Artifact Accessions

Thinking of donating an item to the museum? Here is what we are currently accepting, how the process works, and how to reach us with questions.

Our Mission

“To collect, preserve and share Cass County, Indiana history.”

Every donation is reviewed against this mission by a committee of local historians and society volunteers.

Collection Guidelines

What we are and are not currently accepting.

We only accept items relative to Cass County, Indiana history. Preference is given to items we do not already have in the collection, or that come with an accompanying story, pictures, or documentation.
We are no longer accepting Logansport High School Tattler yearbooks dated prior to 2009. We are accepting yearbooks from all county and elementary schools.
We are no longer accepting City or Rural Directories dated prior to 2000.
CCHS reserves the right to decline artifact donations that are outside our mission scope, that already exist in the collection, or that we do not have the capacity to properly care for.

Please be aware that donated items are not guaranteed to be accepted into the museum artifact collection or exhibited on display. Rejected items may still be used by the Society as props or decoration for museum events, activities, or displays. Relevant and valuable historic items may still be declined if duplicates already exist in the collection. Please also consider a financial contribution to help fund the expense of curating and preserving our vast collection of donated artifacts.

Donors must complete this form for our records when donating items to the museum. Download, print, and bring it with your donation, or email it with any documentation, photos, or provenance to info@casscountyhistory.org.
